Haywood
Hospital
Cranes now
on site to rebuild the £35 million Haywood Hospital. Primary Care
Trust has extra money to fund care in the community to promote
good health. Take a look at the report by on Darwin Council.
Department
for Work and Pensions
Having
apposed the closure of the Burslem Jobcentre I can now report that
the Department for Work and pensions is working with me and other
partners to bring support for people in this area. The proposal is
set up a Job Employment Training Scheme here.
Canals
There is
lots of work is going on on the waterways – I addressed the Annual
Inland Waterways Boaters Annual meeting to tell them about the
joys of Stoke-on-Trent canals, including improvements on the Trent
Mersey.
Chatterley
Whitfield
On top of
the Enterprise Centre now up and running, and new access road and
active Friends of Chatterley Whitfield Group, consultation is now
underway on site details of £14 million Government grant to pay
for remediation to repair damaged culverts and create and
landscape a heritage park, including the Sustrans cycle route, and
linking Ball Green, Norton, Ford Green, Bradeley, Chell Heath, and
Fegg Hayes.
Burslem
Festival
I just
wanted to highlight the Burslem Festival which will be taking
place on Saturday 10th May 2008 from 11 until 4.00 on
Queen Street & St John’s Square. It is a
FREE event.
