The Haywood Hospital officially launched a count down to the completion of the £32 million transformation of the current hospital. The digital clocked showed 505 days until the opening of the redevelopmented Haywood Hospital which will see the 75 year old Haywood Buildings replaced by a high-tech two storey building. The redevelopment will include new wards for the elderly and people needing rehabilitation, a new department for patients with incurable conditions, a refurbished walk in centre and rheumatism and arthritis complex.

At last we have cranes on the skyline -  in constant use – a sure sign that the new hospital development is underway.  I hope that local people will get involved in the new arrangements for involvement on health. I have been fighting for this for 10 years, and we need to make sure the new Haywood is as well-loved as the old one.
