PRESS
RELEASE
FROM
JOAN WALLEY, MP
STOKE-ON-TRENT NORTH |
Immediate release:
Joan Walley, MP is calling on Stoke-on-Trent
City council to review its highway markings at Smallthorne
roundabout.
Said Joan:
“ Smallthorne Rounabout has to be one of the
most challenging circuits of the local road network. So it’s
vital that motorists are guided to the right lane
for their final exit from the roundabout. Coming from Hanley
towards High Lane, you could be forgiven
for ending up in Moorland Road. I have asked Stoke-on-Trent City
Council to consider whether safety would be improved for learner
drivers by allowing the right hand lane to be for right turning
traffic only and the left hand lane to be ahead and left and not
left only.
I think many drivers would be reassured if
the highway specialists could give the road markings the once over
safety check now that the roundabout has had time to bed in.”
