Bankeyfields community site 2008 - developed by Inter Advertising Ltd

It was good to see the residents in Bankeyfields make progress with their web site.

The new website has a forum and blog section, which can be accessed in a RSS feed as well. The site looks extremely profession, is very informative and a great tool for the community. I understand from Mark that only in the few days it has been running it has already attracted attention from the police, and the Sentinel. I have attached a link to the Bankeyfields website on my links page – but you can also take a look at it from here.

Bankeyfields have had a long history of insisting that a play area be built and there are a lot so lessons to be learned from their experience. It should never have taken so long! I have asked the new Director of Community Services at Stoke on Trent City Council to make play provision in my constituency a priority.

I'm already in touch with many residents groups on this. Last week the government announced its updated policy on play Fair Play and the Minister announced that children access the country are to get an extra 3,500 play areas and 30 local authorities will get £2 million each to build adventure playgrounds, as part of the £235 Government investment on children’s play. My aim now is that Stoke on Trent City Council to should work in partnership to make play facilities a reality in this constituency. I'm interested to hear from any groups involved in improved play facilities.
