Showcasing Young Talent

As part of the Prime Minister’s new term, a reception was arranged at No10 Downing Street for young people designed to showcase young talent throughout the UK, I nominated Scott Schofield of the Potteries Theatre Company.

I have been keen to link up with budding young theatre production directors, and was delighted to confirm that Scott Schofield of the Potteries Theatre Company would be attending the reception and keep the banner flying for stoke-on-Trent.

I have taken a keen interest in Scott’s career since he came to my constituency office on work experience as a 14year old.  The Potteries Theatre Company’s last production of “Summer Holiday” was a fine example of keeping theatre productions going.

The reception brought together young people from all around the country to recognise the wonderful contribution they make to their communities. Scott’s work with the Potteries Theatre Company is truly inspirational and an example to us all.   The Potteries Theatre Company has a wonderful tradition with past members such as Robbie Williams and Jonathan Wilkes going onto achieve great things and we need to make sure that the theatre continues to inspire a new generation of young people.
