The Work of the Government
Government Ministers announce new policies and launch
consultation documents throughout the parliamentary session.

You may also like to know that Select Committees will be
scrutinising Government Departments in the forthcoming session.
From time to time they invite submissions from those with a
particular interest in the subject of their inquiry. For further
information you may visit the Select Committees' Homepage.

Of just as much importance as the legislation currently making
its way through the various parliamentary and committee stages are
the decisions taken by Government which affect us locally; the way
that ministers allocate money and how we can influence those
making decisions about the needs of North Staffordshire.
Committees and Groups
The new parliamentary session started in
November 2007.
This year's Queen Speech builds on what we have done so far.
Since 1997 the Government has set a rapid
agenda for change, getting the basics in place
to build a fairer and more prosperous Britain.
At the centerpiece of this
year's agenda, detailed by
the Queen in parliament, are plans to broaden
opportunity and increase security for all.

issues for me to raise in the House or behind the scenes with
ministers please do not hesitate to contact me at the House of
