Offical opening of Middleport Health Centre

                              

Joan was delighted to welcome the Health Secretary Andy Burnham to officially open the new Middleport Health Centre. Joan accompanied the Secretary of State, along with NHS Stoke-on-Trent’s Chief Executive Graham Urwin, on a tour of the state of the art centre.

Joan has pressed the Department of Health for much needed funding for areas with the fewest doctors and is pleased the facility will now be able to provide high quality healthcare to the local community.

Joan said: “Stoke-on-Trent has suffered from real health inequalities and I have been pressing for this new centre for some time. I am really pleased the centre is now up and running and that in the first week it has been open the centre has already had 390 patients register.”
